Porsche History
Porsche, shortened for Dr.-Ing. hc F. Porsche AG is an automobile based out of Germany and was founded by Ferdinand Porsche in 1931. Initially, the company's main line of business was offering consulting services in automobile sector. The company later on also started working on developing motor vehicles and one of their earlier project was with German government to design a car. The objective was to develop car for people to travel from one place to another convenient and this led to development of Volkswagen. The company developed Volkswagen Beetle, which became a huge success among the masses.
1939 became the year when first Porsche car came into existence and it was Porsche 64. Not many people know that this car used most of the components of Volkswagen Beetle.

Later on during World War II, Volkswagen moved into production of vehicles for military by producing modified versions of Beetle. At the same time, Porsche started working on designing heavy tanks but they lost the contracts to competitors. The World War II did not end on well for the firm as Volkswagen factory fell to British and Ferdinand lost his position in the firm and was later imprisoned for war crimes. Meanwhile, his son Ferry Porsche began work on new car design and slowly Porsche was coming back on tracks with development of Porsche 356.

With Ferdinand's release from prison, Porsche started the production of cars under his guidance and the journey continued. In later years Porsche started designing cars keeping motor-racing in mind and they achieved success with 550 Spyder model.
With the success and popularity in motor-racing, Porsche turned it's focus on designing cars in this segment and today Porsche specialises in high-performance sports cars, SUVs and sedans. The popular Porsche models in market today are 718, 911, Panamera, Taycan, Macan and Cayenne with an option to build your car as per your taste and liking.
